Spray painting
Spray painting can be used to paint big surfaces, high ceilings or bigger amounts of items, which can be anything that is capable for spraying. Spraying can achieve a nice, smooth finish and a better coverage than brush or roller applications in a much shorter time.
Attractive Painting can use both airless and air assisted spraying technologies.
Ceilings
This old fibreglass ceiling has been sprayed by airless spray application which allowed a smooth finish on cornices and even over the broken spot on the kitchen ceiling.
Doors and frames sprayed with water based enamel
This is an example of air assisted spraying using environmentally friendly water based enamel product on doors and doorframes. The result speaks for itself.
Roller doors, garage doors
One useful application of spray painting is to spray roller doors. Spraying eliminates the possibility of having brush marks on the surface. It is important though to complete a thorough preparation and of course proper sanding for a pleasant and smooth finish.
This roller door which we had to paint in a transport company`s depot, was in a pretty worn out condition as old paint was peeling off excessively from the surface.
We scraped off all the peeling paint and sanded the whole door to get a smooth surface for the finish.
To get access to the high areas we had to use scissors lift during the work.
After cleaning down and putting plastic covers around the edges to prevent the surrounding areas from overspraying, we applied 2 coats of exterior acrylic by spraying the whole surface with airless spray unit.
We achieved a much better and smoother finish then using brush at the application.
The same procedure can be used on garage doors or smaller roller doors in residential or commercial environment.
Roof painting
Concrete or clay roof tiles can be spray painted and revitalised. First they need a high pressure cleaning to make the surface clean and free of debris. After this 2 coats of exterior finish can be applied and it will look good again.
This corrugated metal roof in Rockingham has been sprayed with 2 coats of Wattyl`s Solagard exterior paint in a low sheen finish.
