Concrete painting and texturing
The question how to paint concrete can be answered easily.
Concrete can be painted if it`s clean, dry and free of chemical substances.
Therefore new concrete has to be washed with acid water and dried out properly before it can be painted.
Concrete floors
There are a lot of different solutions as to how to paint and what concrete can be treated with. One is Epoxy coating, a two-pack high gloss and hardwearing paint.
This old concrete floor in a Rockingham Recreational Facility has been worn out and looked very battered. After 3 coats of tinted epoxy paint it built up a good looking, shiny and easy to clean surface.
Concrete floors can be clear coated, painted to colours or designer coated to get the look of stone or marble. For more go to www.designerflake.com
Your floor can be made slip resistant using anti-slip additives at application.
Concrete or paved floors in the garage or around the house can get spilled or stained which is very hard to clean. One solution is to paint the surface and make a strong, beautiful floor of your choice which is easier to clean.
Texture coating
Concrete tilt-up panels can be either texture coated or just painted like any other walls.
Tilt-up panels are pre built concrete walls. They need high pressure cleaning to wash down any bond breakers before they can be painted. After they have been cleaned, a sealer coat and 2 coats of textured paint can be rolled onto the surface making it look like render.
For a matt finish a further coat of paint can be applied.
