Anti Graffiti Coatings

Anti Graffiti Coatings are extremely hardwearing coatings designed to protect exterior surfaces from graffiti vandalism.

There are sacrificial and non-sacrificial coatings available on the market.

Sacrificial means if the surface is vandalized, the coating can be removed (sacrificed) using a high-pressure washer, taking the graffiti with it. The coating then must be reapplied. The materials used to make a sacrificial coating are usually inexpensive clear paints.

Non sacrificial coatings only have to be applied once. These work by creating a protective surface that spray paint cannot bond to. After the surface has been vandalized the graffiti has to be removed with a simple solvent (toluene). The underlying surface and the protective coating will remain undamaged.

Anti graffiti coatings can be applied on painted or bare surfaces with brush, roller or spray painting. We can assist you to choose the right product, wether shiny or matt finish for the right surface.

Examples

This community building in Baldivis has been anti graffiti coated with non-sacrificial anti graffiti paint. After cleaning the building with water pressure cleaner, we spray painted the whole wall surface including the doors and downpipes (except the windows) with 2 coats of glossy polyurethane for total protection.
